Berea police report shows that the victim was playing with her friends near the village forest when the suspected boy arrived at them.   It is alleged that on arrival the suspect took the victim away from other children to other place, undressed her and sexually abused her. District commissioner for Berea Senior Superintendent Raphoka Ramachaha confirmed the incident and said they are waiting for the directives from the probation officer as the suspect is the minor. "We are deeply concerned about the incident as both the victim and the suspects are relatives," Berea Senior Superintendent Raphoka Ramachaha said. He concluded by advising parents not to leave their children alone more especial near awkward places like forest to avoid incideces of sexual harrasment.   Thu, 28 Jan 2016 03:59:37 GMThttp://lmps.org.ls:80/weekly-reports/police-arrested-16yrs-old-boy-for-sexual-offencePolice arrest a suspect below the cliffshttp://lmps.org.ls:80/weekly-reports/suspect-arrest-below-the-cliffs By: Mosoaboli Mohlomi<o:p></o:p> Maseru: A Mosotho male aged 25-years-old of Ha Ramalumane  Baking, Berea was arrested by Mapoteng police on charges of unlawful firearm, unlawful ammunition and assault common on 31st December, 2015.<o:p></o:p> According to Mapoteng police report the suspect pointed his brother with a 9mm pistol after they had a quarrel over family matter.<o:p></o:p> It is reported that they wrestled for a firearm until it released one bullet to the ground. <o:p></o:p> The report further shows that the victim managed to disarm his brother and an alarm was made then the villagers came and intervened.<o:p></o:p> The suspect was handed-over to the village chief together with the exhibit of a firearm. Therefore he was found guilty as charged by the court and sentenced 2 years imprisonment or to pay a fine of M8, 000 which he failed to pay.    Mohale’shoek: A suspect in a brutal killing of  84yrs old woman which happened between 19 and 20th November, 2015 has been arrested by police on the 23rd November, 2015. He was conveyed to the mortuary. Cause of his killing is not known and no arrest has been made. Mantsonyane: Two men aged between 30 and 35-years-old from Ha Fantisi, Thaba-Tseka are arrested and charged with a murder of 24-years-old man of the same village who was murdered on the 22, Sept, 2015 at Ha-Fantisi. The deceased was assaulted to death by suspects outside the village. Mantsonyane Police are investigating cause of his killing.  Matelile:  A husband shot his wife to death at Ribaneng, Thaba-Sekoka on 28, September,2015. The wife was killed on suspicion that she was having an affair. The couple was at its home around 1630hrs and suspect took his wife’s phone and found photos where his wife was with other men. The husband surrendered himself before Matelile police with .38 special loaded with seven rounds. The suspected is facing charges of murder and an unlawful possession of a firearm.    Mohale’s Hoek:  A 48-years-old man Liphate ‘SEKUTA’ Mosieane was assaulted to death after he was found sneaking near a house of one villager and three men aged between 17 and 25-years-old are arrested in connection with the murder.    Matelile: A 24-years-old woman was robbed money amounting to M4, 500.0 by two armed men at Ha-Sekheke.  The lady was about to close the shop at about 1930hrs when those men arrived and pointed her with firearms demanding money. They took money and fled afterwards.<o:p></o:p> Mafeteng:  A Chinese national aged 32-years-old who is the owner of AS Supermarket was robbed a sum of M5,000.00 and Ag cell phone, box of courtleigh on the 26, Sept 2015 by three unknown men. It is reported that the victim was at the said supermarket when those men entered and ordered him and customers to lie down. Moorosi have arrested 3 suspects and are looking for the other 4 in connection with the murder of a Mosotho male aged 35-years-old of Ha Malibe, Quthing who was suspected of stock theft by the villagers. According to police report, 7 suspects; amongst them a complainant aged 41-years-old from different villages, were in search of a stolen sheep and came across the victim at his stock-post where he was staying on September 14, 2015. They arrested him and started searching him whereby they discovered meat of a sheep. Immediately after that, they told him they were escorting him to the headman of Let&scaron;eng village. On the way, he was assaulted until he fell down and they left him there while some went to report the incident at the village. A son of complainant aged 17-years-old  and a relative aged 30-years-old together with the other suspect were apprehended by police while others are still at large. While attending the scene of crime, police discovered the body of the victim lying dead near Beteu cattle post with missing parts such as head skin, left ear, left eye and a tongue. Police suspect that the missing parts might have been eaten by dogs or wild animals. A Mosotho male aged 20-years-old of Matebeng Ha-Makhooa and the other one aged 19-years-old of the same village were both found in possession of 4 horses during the police raid which was held at Matebeng Ha Lelingoana and Ha Makhooa. The suspects failed to produce relevant documents when demanded by police and were then arrested. Police again found 3 horses and a donkey in possession of Mostho male aged 20-years-old  of Matebeng Ha Lelingoana. He was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of stock. Police discovered that the horses were branded with Southern African brand. On the other side, a Mosotho Male age 23-years-old  of Ha-Makhooa was found in possession of 9mm star short with (5) rounds serial number rubbed off. He was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of firearms. Quthing: Tsitsong police are investigating a case of sexual abuse where a Mosotho female aged 20-years-old of Makhalong was sexually abused by a Mosotho male aged 17-years-old at her home. According to police report, the victim was at home when suspect arrived and asked for drinking water. After drinking he left but in a surprise returned after about three minutes and proposed love to her. The victim denied that but the suspect pushed her to bed, undressed her and raped her. Though the victim tried to scream for help, the suspect choked her and continued sexually abusing her.  The incident was reported to her aunt who took it before her father. Police investigation revealed that on the same day Tsinyane accompanied one traditional teacher to his home where they found the late Malefane and eight men already awaiting for them at about 2000 hours. They (Traditional teacher and Malefane) told their colleagues that Tsinyane behaved badly at the initiation school.  The deceased and other men locked the door and assaulted Tsinyane who stabbed Malefane and died on the spot. The report showed that Tsinyane was the shepherd of the late Malefane. He was due to appear before the Mafeteng magistrate court on 30 December, 2014. <o:p> </o:p> MFETENG: T&scaron;eliso Rantsie (40) of Siloe Ha Rantsie appeared before magistrate Letsika and Public Prosecutor Jonathan on 22 December, 2014 charged with murder of his uncle Lelingoane Rantsie (80) of the same village. Police investigations discovered that the late Lelingoana has been using the field of Ts’eliso for many years. On 2 December, 2014 the suspect claimed his field back, then the quarrel started, as a result Lelingoana  fought  the suspect (T&scaron;eliso)  with a spear, then the suspect  hit the deceased with a lebetlela stick. Lelingoana was taken to Mafeteng government hospital and later transferred to Queen II Mamohato Memorial hospital where he died at night of the same day. T&scaron;eliso was granted bail by the High court of Lesotho. It was driven by one Kemelo Thinyane Mosotho male aged 28 years of Ha-Lesia Maseru h/m Jobo Letsie u/c Khoabane Theko.<o:p></o:p> He was arrested in connection with the said armed robbery and was kept in police custody. It is alleged that the suspect after stabbing his wife to death drank poison. The husband had been admitted at the hospital on critical condition. <o:p></o:p> NASERU: A 22-years-old man of Ha-Majoro was assaulted to death with a whip stick by a man of the same age place. The victim was taken to Paray Hospital and later transferred to Queen ’Mamohato Memorial Hospita,l where he died.   He sustained scratches and bruises on the body. Police will perform autopsy latter, no arrest has been made. <o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p>MABOTE:  On the night of 16 August, 2014 at Tsunami Snack Bar a man was shot death after he had a quarrel with a suspect.  It is alleged that both the deceased and suspect were at the above mentioned bar when a quarrel aroused between then. The quarrel came after deceased urinated on the suspect’s car. The suspect confronted him and the deceased allegedly insulted and attacked him.  MASERU: Three men were arrested in connection with a murder of a 64-years-old woman who went missing on the 1 July, 2014. During investigation police found that the victim was killed and buried near an old initiation school. MASERU: A 31-years-old man was found dead outside a sheeben next to taxi rank at about 0230hrs.  It is alleged that two women heard a knock on the door and when they opened they found a man covered with blood. They identified him and went to his relative to inform her about the incident. The deceased sustained an open wound. He was found guilty as charged and was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment without an option of fine. The report indicates that the deceased was assaulted to death by her father using a sjambok after her cell phone rang and she could not answer that call. It was reported that her father accused the deceased of having love affairs with boys. Police attended the scene of crime and found the deceased lying dead on the mattress in the pool of blood covered with blankets. On examination, she sustained multiple whip marks and bruises on the body; the suspect was arrested and investigations are proceeding.
